Red hot Rowdies continue May homestand with three primetime games at Al Lang

People watching a Rowdies soccer game

St. Pete’s hometown team is one of the hottest sides in American soccer right now. The Tampa Bay Rowdies, who just advanced to the round of 16 in the US Open Cup, are hosting five games this month at Al Lang Stadium, with the final three kicking off this Saturday.

Any who have been to a Rowdies game know how raucous and entertaining the atmosphere is inside the stadium (shoutout to Ralph’s Mob), and this stretch of games gives us even more reason to visit the downtown waterfront. Upcoming games are Saturday, May 18, Wednesday, May 22, and Saturday, May 25. Check out our gameday guide for what to eat, drink and do inside the stadium.

Dog night with the Tampa Bay Rowdies

This Saturday, May 18, The Rowdies host FC Tulsa at 7:30 pm, and it also marks the first “Ruffs N Rowdies” Dog Night of the year, marking one of the most popular events every season as fans can bring their pups to the game. In addition to drink specials for dogs and their humans alike, the Bayshore Lounge is converted into a dog area for the night, allowing you, your friends and your pups to hang out and watch Rowdies soccer together. There will be water bowls, pools, and even multiple “Chill zones” provided by hosts Pete and Pinnie Pelican. Learn more and register here.

Of note, this Saturday’s match is also the first of five this year that includes the “Family Four Pack” deal. This special promo gets you four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas, all starting at $100. Learn more and get the four pack here.

Fireworks displays after a special home game

On Wednesday, May 22 at 7:30 pm, the Rowdies host MLS side FC Dallas in one of the biggest home games ever for the lads in green and yellow. Tampa Bay earned the appearance in the round of 16 of the US Open Cup after a thrilling 6-4 victory over Birmingham Legion in the Round of 32 last week, one of the highest scoring and most entertaining matches of the year. This marks the deepest run ever in the US Open Cup for the Rowdies and is a huge achievement for the club.

In the final match of the three-game week for the Rowdies, the boys welcome in Las Vegas Lights FC on Saturday, May 25 at 7:30 pm. That game marks the first of three fireworks nights spread throughout the season, as fans will be treated to a free fireworks show following the game. If you haven’t been to a game to see fireworks over the Tampa Bay at night following a Rowdies win … we won’t say you haven’t lived, but you certainly will want to add it to your list of life experiences. Tickets are available here.
