A first-of-its-kind culinary gathering spot in St. Pete is one of the tastiest new concepts to hit the city. St. Pete Social is a food truck lot located at 4580 49th Street North, a new hotspot for great eats and good times.
The idea behind St. Pete Social is to create a permanent gathering place to try some of the area’s best food trucks, with plenty of room to sit and eat, play some games, and enjoy the Sunshine City’s beautiful weather. The concept debuted earlier this year, and currently has four permanent food trucks on site with Taco Junkie, Smokin Me Crazy BBQ, Jojo’s Tastes of Chicago, and Toast Gourmet Sandwiches all dishing up the good stuff.

Alongside the food trucks, the breezy lot has shaded picnic tables, games, and a soon-to-come ‘St. Pete Social Tiki Bar.’ The repurposed shipping container will house a bar on the bottom level to take care of all beverage needs, along with rooftop seating on the second level. And if all that wasn’t enough: St. Pete Social will soon be home to a tattoo parlor, with High Art Tattoo opening in April.
Owner and operator Matt Vega opened St. Pete Social as part of Trukado, a joint venture between he and partner Andrew Priestman to help food trucks build their brand and find permanent locations.
St. Pete Social is open Wednesday-Sunday, with new trucks joining the fray soon, though availability for individual trucks can vary based on event schedules. Current hours of operation are 11 am – 9 pm Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, and 11 am – 10 pm Friday and Saturday. Follow St. Pete Social on Instagram for more updates.
As for what to expect from the food trucks themselves, diners should be advised to come on an empty stomach, based on St. Pete Social’s description. “We currently feature delicious slow-smoked BBQ from Smokin’ Me Crazy BBQ, authentic tacos, quesadillas, and rice bowls from The Taco Junkie, gourmet sandwiches and unrivaled sides from Toast Food Truck, and true Chicago style pizza and dogs from JoJo’s Tastes of Chicago.”
