Ready to unleash your inner scientist and embrace the wonders of the universe? The St. Pete Science Festival is back for another year of hands-on exploration, innovation, and creativity. This free event occurs Saturday, February 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg campus (140 7th Ave S) and Poynter Park, right along the scenic waterfront.

This year’s festival promises to be bigger and better than ever. This event is your chance to dive into a day filled with interactive exhibits and mind-blowing experiences. From marine life to the mysteries of outer space, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

A celebration of STEAM on the St. Pete waterfront

The festival celebrates the magic of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM), bringing the world of discovery to life for people of all ages. Last year, the event wowed attendees with a mobile aquarium, a seagrass maze, and even a virtual reality shark show. It was a thrilling mix of education and entertainment that inspired over 15,000 guests—and this year, even more are expected to join in on the fun.

One of the day’s highlights is its unique partnership with MarineQuest, the open house event hosted by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Fish and Wildlife Research Institute. The two events run side-by-side, and the best part? You can easily walk from one to the other.

There’s no cost to explore all the exhibits, participate in activities, or enjoy the many shows and demonstrations throughout the day. It’s a perfect way to spend the day with your family while diving deep into the wonders of science and nature.
