The City of St. Petersburg just posted a behind-the-scenes construction tour of the President Barack Obama Main Library, located at 3745 9th Ave. N. The building has been under construction since April 2021.
Back in July 2024, the city put out a Request for Qualifications for artists to contribute public art at the Main Library. “Public art is essential to the unique fabric of St. Pete. Not only does it beautify our surroundings, it but also reflects our diverse culture, sparks dialogue, and inspires the community,” said Celeste Davis, Director of Arts, Culture & Tourism. “The President Barack Obama Main Library project offers a unique opportunity to celebrate our shared history and envision our collective future through the power of art.”
