St. Pete is well known for it’s incredible art scene. Behind our stunning murals, unique museums, and stellar shows are the local artists and art supporters that make it all happen! As we all raise the next generation of St. Petians, new artists will begin to rise. As a local parent and creator of Sunshine City with Kids, I am beyond grateful for the outstanding variety of enriching music and art programs for kids in our wonderful city. Having so many places where my children can unleash their inner Picassos, Mozarts, and future rock stars, while also having a blast, is a parenting dream come true!

Music & Me is a very special space that offers immersive and interactive music classes for children aged 0-5/6 and their caregivers. Classes follow the well known ‘Music Together’ curriculum and are led by professionally trained artists and musicians. School of Rock St. Pete is an amazing place to jumpstart your child’s musical journey! Their classes and top notch educators will help your child master skills, unleash creativity, and develop tools they need to reach their musical dreams. Classes start at age 6 and go all the way up to adult learners. Lessons include voice, piano, guitar, drums, and more!

Arts Conservatory for Teens

Arts Conservatory for Teens offers world-class training and performance opportunities in Music, Theater, Dance, Film, Art, Leadership, and Entrepreneurship -right here in St. Pete! Practically Pikasso is a colorful and creative studio that offers walk-in art experiences, art classes, events, and even camps! From Toddler Time with a story and painting project, to teen theme clay nights and adult pottery classes, this local art haven has everything you and your family need to become pottery experts.

The Clay Co-Op

The Clay Co-Op is a pottery studio and supplier that offers an intimate space to create and collaborate with other new and established artists. They also offer parent-child pottery classes where you and your kiddo (5+) can enjoy some creative one-on-one time! During this 2-hour class, you and your child will create a set of mugs, little critters, or bowls. Whether it’s a paw-some pet project, a crabby under-the-sea creation, or a frame-tastic fun session, there’s something for every young artist!

Morean Arts Center

The Morean Arts Center is a staple in the St. Pete art community and offers opportunities for creating and enjoying the arts on so many levels. One of our favorite programs is the ‘Weekend at the Morean’. This program occurs most Saturdays and Sundays and is designed to give families an opportunity to create and play together for FREE! Saturday classes are held at the Morean Arts Center and Sunday classes are held at the Morean Center for Clay. These classes are ALL AGES and pre-registration is required. These fun art classes begin again in the fall!

The Art of Science

The Art of Science is a magnificent small business, created by local artists, with a mission to encourage creativity through the integration of science and art. This is achieved through a combination of critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, and creativity using a variety of hands-on activities. The Art of Science offers afterschool programs, camps, homeschool programs, and studio classes for school age children and adults.

Drip Art Lounge

Drip Art Lounge is a brand new walk-in and create studio in Gulfport/St. Pete! There are numerous classes for kids 5 and up and children age 12 and up can join in some of the adult classes as well! This beautiful space allows you to bring your own refreshments as well. Sign up or walk in to unleash your creativity as you and your family explore their ever-changing Make-It Menu featuring projects like canvas painting, mixed media, watercolor, collaging & more!
