Calling all fans of baklava and baba ganoush – a new bakery in downtown is dishing up some incredible Kurdish and Turkish delights. St. Pete Bakery just opened its doors to the public at 600 1st Avenue North, across from Mirror Lake and around the corner from Bonu and Book + Bottle.
Open Wednesday- Monday every week, St. Pete Bakery has a wide range of Turkish coffee and tea brewed in-house, alongside regional staples such as stuffed vine leaves, falafel and kibbeh. The bakery also offers a wide range of baked goods (including multiple styles of baklava), soups and salads, and specialty sweets.

Of note, ownership tells us nearly everything on the menu is both gluten-free and vegan, making it an extremely approachable menu for all diets. Our sweet tooth is already calling out for the coconut and cocoa date balls, as well as the tempting Turkish Delights.
The family-run bakery got its start at the Saturday Morning Market, where it was a perennial favorite among regular attendees. This brick-and-mortar location is an expansion of their offerings, and has already become a hit among those in the know.
More offerings include Tabbouleh salad, two types of house-made hummus, chickpea and lentil soups, and basmati biryani rice prepared in a clay pot. Additionally, St. Pete Bakery has a small market where guests can pick up everything from sweets, syrups, and date balls, to full Turkish coffee kits.
St. Pete Bakery is open 9 am – 6 pm Wednesday – Friday, 9 am – 7 pm on Saturdays, and 12-6 pm on Sundays. Visit them at 600 1st Avenue North, and follow them on Instagram for more.
