Spring Festival brings music, games and Easter egg hunt to St. Pete Pier this weekend

Spring Festival brings music, games and Easter egg hunt to St. Pete Pier this weekend

This weekend, the St. Pete Pier is taking spring celebration to never-before-seen levels. The inaugural Spring Festival, happening Saturday and Sunday April 8 and 9, is a mega-sized celebration of the season, complete with one of the biggest Easter egg hunts in the region.

While the festivities run all weekend, Sunday’s Easter egg hunt in Spa Beach Park will certainly be one of the most popular activities. More than 20,000 Easter eggs filled with candy and toys will be hidden all over the park, with the hunt beginning at 3 pm. For frame of reference, last year’s Easter egg hunt had 5,000 hidden eggs. This year’s will be St. Pete’s biggest-ever hunt.

In addition to Sunday’s hunt, the entire weekend will be packed full of family-friendly entertainment and activities. Festival games will take over Spa Beach Park with a bounce zone, face painting, balloon artists, claw games and more. There will also be specialty food trucks and vendors, like Main Street Boys Empanadas, Astro Ice Cream, and Big Red BBQ.

And of course, the Rockin’ Roller Rink will be in full swing all weekend, the pier’s first-ever open-air, outdoor roller skating rink. Saturday and Sunday will both feature live music and DJs, while Sunday will welcome the Easter Bunny and the Spheres Bubble Show, as well.

Sunday’s Easter egg hunt in Spa Beach Park is limited to children 12 years old and under, and there will also be a separate smaller area for toddlers to hunt for eggs with their parents. Participation in the Easter egg hunt is free. Find golden eggs hidden for chances to win prizes like a Doc Ford’s Gift Basket, $50 Astro Ice Cream Gift Card, St. Petersburg Museum of History Family Membership, and much more. Also, look for the eco-friendly eggs for prizes from Tampa Bay Watch.
