Let’s get this bread, y’all. The Sourdough Co., located at 1113 Central Avenue, is Florida’s first sourdough-only bakery and cafe, and since their grand opening at the end of 2023, they’ve been a hit every day among locals and visitors alike.
The bright and airy bakery is inside a beautiful, welcoming, and incredibly aromatic building in the heart of St. Pete, offering fresh baked artisan loaves, soups and salads, sandwiches, rich desserts, and much more. Plus, they have great locally-roasted coffee to pair with your pick from the case.

Everything at Sourdough Co. is baked daily in-house (you can see the kneading and baking in action behind the counter), and the result is some truly delicious eats. We love stopping in for a breakfast sandwich to kick off the day, or grabbing a hearty Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich over lunch to put us over the hump. If you’ve been missing your favorite biscuits since Red Lobster closed down, we definitely recommend grabbing a six pack of their herb and cheddar biscuits.
Now, while the full loaves and sandwiches are the stars (we recommend the jalapeno cheddar, when available – also great with sandwiches), it’s the sweets that took our taste buds by storm. After all, we’ve had sourdough bread before. But sourdough-based sweets – that’s something new for us. And it is wonderful.
The sourdough chocolate chip cookies are the best sellers, and with good reasons. But options range from crumbly scones and sweet muffins, to coffee cakes, cupcakes, pop-tarts, macarons and other baked goods. You would be hard-pressed to have a more enjoyable afternoon pick-me-up than a breve latte paired with an espresso scone.

The Sourdough Co. is open 8 am – 6 pm seven days a week. Breakfast runs from 8-11, with lunch service beginning at 11 am. There are some items available all day, including goods from the bakery cases and avocado toast.
