Pinellas County residents can kick off the holiday season with a dose of magic at The BayCare Sound in Clearwater (255 Drew St) on Friday, December 13. The highly anticipated Polar Express Experience is back, bringing a free, family-friendly event packed with festive activities, falling snow and plenty of holiday cheer. Starting at 4:30 p.m., the plaza will transform into a winter wonderland, offering a variety of games, crafts and interactive experiences for kids and families to enjoy.
One of the biggest highlights of the event is a special opportunity to meet Santa Claus—pending confirmation from his busy schedule, of course. The elves at the North Pole have been notified, and a confirmation of Santa’s visit is expected soon. Whether or not the jolly old man himself makes an appearance, families will have plenty of fun-filled moments to look forward to as they celebrate the season together.

All aboard the Polar Express in Clearwater
At 6:30 p.m., the Ruth Eckerd Hall Chorus will take the stage for a heartwarming Holiday Sing-A-Long. Known for their exceptional performances, the chorus will lead attendees in a joyful sing-along of beloved holiday carols. It’s an opportunity for everyone—young and old—to get into the spirit of the season, and the energy will be contagious as the crowd sings their way through classic tunes.
Afterward, settle in for a free screening of the Oscar®-nominated animated film The Polar Express, starring Tom Hanks. The film has become a staple of holiday viewing, and now it’s taking over the amphitheater stage, where families can enjoy the heartwarming story on a big screen under the stars. It’s the perfect way to continue the festivities with a family favorite that never gets old.
Throughout the evening, food trucks and concessions will be on hand offering a variety of tasty treats for purchase.
