From the minds behind St. Pete’s sensational restaurant Wild Child comes a New York City-inspired cocktail parlor and tasting room, Slim Charmer. Owned by Rob Reinsmith and Matt Kaye and helmed by Chef Scott Grimm, Slim Charmer will debut in early 2025 at 2706 Central Ave in the Grand Central District. This exciting new venture will feature a martini-focused cocktail program and elevated, seasonal small plates.
The martini was first concocted in New York City, and since its appearance in a frosted glass, it has mesmerized the public imagination, informed the social scene of New York City, and been the preferred drink of actors on the silver screen. That iconic Metropolitan energy is further evoked in the 1940s building Slim Charmer occupies.

The 800-square-foot space will boast an intimate, 26-seat cocktail lounge complimented by personalized service. A press release teases, “Slim Charmer embraces creativity, standing out as an innovative destination where guests can savor the unexpected and experience flavors not found anywhere.”
Slim Charmer may be the most exciting debut in 2025
I pause over that phrasing: “Savor the unexpected and experience flavors not found anywhere.” That phrase epitomizes my experience dining at Rob Reinsmith and Matt Kaye’s other restaurant, Wild Child, whose tables are some of the most coveted in the city, and whose seasonal plates, the most memorable.
In a 2021 interview with I Love The Burg, Matt Kaye stated that he wanted Wild Child to be “local-yet-international, laidback, but still casual, New York—in St. Pete—neighborhood escape.” This seemingly conflicting vision resulted in acclaim, and Wild Child continues to astound St. Pete’s culinary scene.
If the success of Wild Child is any indicator, Slim Charmer may be the most exciting debut in 2025.
