Does the chance to stand just six inches away from a King Cobra excite you? Of course, they will be behind glass but Robert Siders hopes the thrill will be there. He and his business partner will soon open the ‘Burg’s first Serpentarium at 538 Central Avenue where they hope people will be willing to pay a small fee to see some of the deadliest snakes in the world — 16 to be exact!
The two run an animal rescue in South Florida where they house lions, bears (oh my!) and yes, snakes taken from zoos and circuses. They’re hoping the St. Pete Serpentarium will help generate enough money to help provide at least some support to the not-for-profit animal rescue.

Siders says the St. Pete Serpentarium is also serving as a drop off place for those that own constrictors or exotic snakes, with a “no questions asked" policy. Opening is expected sometime around the 20th of August.
