TikTok famous Savannah Bananas bring baseball circus to Tampa

Banana ball is coming to the Tampa Bay Area this spring! The TikTok famous Savannah Bananas are taking their one-of-a-kind baseball extravaganza on the road in 2023, and our region made the world tour cut. The event is set for April 29 at George M Steinbrenner Field in Tampa a gorgeous spring training facility. Savannah Bananas are unlike any baseball team you’ve ever seen before, and their special blend of banana ball makes the game fun for even non-sports fans. The Savannah Bananas’ mission is to make baseball fun through on-field hijinks like choreographed dances, skits and added props.

For the uninitiated, rules of Banana Ball include no walks allowed, batters can steal first, no bunts, fans catching foul balls for outs, a 2 hour time limit, and one-on-one showdown tiebreakers. Tampa landing a stop on this 2023 tour is a big deal. After selling out every night of the seven-city 2022 Banana Ball World Tour, the Bananas will take the show farther than ever before in 2023.

Over 700 cities and 28 countries were nominated by thousands of fans for the 2023 tour. “The response has been absolutely Bananas for this world tour,” said Owner Jesse Cole in an interview with MILB.com. “Everywhere we go we hear from fans begging us to come to their city. We are so grateful for their support and because of their passion for the Bananas and Banana Ball we knew we had to extend the tour dramatically in 2023. Now we are bringing the show to almost four times the amount of cities as we did in 2022 to make sure we able to connect with as many Bananas fans as possible.”

The team has been known as TikTok’s favorite team with over 3 million followers, millions more than every MLB team.  The Savanah Bananas will play at George M Steinbrenner Field in Tampa on April 29. Tickets can be reserved in advance online
