October has arrived and for the fifth year in a row the hometown team is back in the playoffs. The Tampa Bay Rays, who clinched a postseason berth weeks ago, officially begin the playoffs this week as they face off against the Texas Rangers in the American League Wild Card Series.
After just completing the regular season over the weekend with an emphatic divisional victory, the Rays are right back at it, with home games Tuesday-Thursday, October 3-5, at Tropicana Field. Playoff tickets are on sale now and available for as low as $30 in what we expect will be a highly-attended series. The winner of the series will move on to face the Baltimore Orioles in the ALDS.

And if you’re ready to display your Rays fandom publicly, the team is making it exceptionally easy to do so this year. They are giving away free yard signs at eight different area businesses, and some local tattoo parlors are even offering free Rays-themed tattoos.
