One of the Tampa Bay Area’s most celebrated chefs is set to open his beloved concept, Olivia, in St. Pete this winter. The chef is highly regarded for his other restaurants: Ponte, On Swann, Bare Naked Kitchen, and Olivia in Tampa. He’s now set to make a significant mark on downtown St. Pete by opening the modern Italian restaurant on January 21 at 225 1st Avenue North, on the ground floor of Ascent.
St. Pete’s future date night destination
The Ponte Restaurant Group collaborated with Tampa-based architectural and interior design firm api(+) to design what is set to be one of the hottest date night spots in the city.

Olivia will offer authentic Italian flavors with a creative flair. Its diverse menu will include appetizers, salads, pizzas, pasta dishes, and protein-heavy entrees. The restaurant will also have a full vegan and gluten-free menu and impressive cocktail and wine lists. Weekend brunch will include delights such as breakfast pizzas, orange blossom pancakes, and a bacon-wrapped steak with a duck egg. A “mid-lunch” menu will be available on Saturdays and Sundays.

The inspiration behind Olivia
Acclaimed Chef Chris Ponte and his wife Michelle originally named the restaurant after their daughter. The affection in every dish served at this Italian treasure is evident.
While rooted in timeless flavors, the menu surprises and delights with its unique twists. Take, for instance, the mini rigatoni dressed in savory ragù Bolognese and topped with a dollop of herbed ricotta—a delightful departure from the ordinary. Even the pizzas boast inventive combinations, like the enticing blend of truffle honey, smoky speck, and fresh scallions.
If you can’t wait until January 21, you can always visit Olivia in Tampa at 3601 W. Swann Ave.
