One of downtown’s most enjoyable outdoor events has officially unveiled its October lineup. Hosted by Preserve the ‘Burg, Movies in the Park is back this month with a fantastic pair of Halloween(ish) movies set to be screened under the stars in North Straub Park.

The fun takes place on two nights, with The Goonies being shown on Thursday, October 20, and a screening of the Tim Burton classic Beetlejuice on Thursday, October 27. On each night, activities kick off at 6 pm with live music being played until dusk, when the movies begin.

As always, Movies in the Park is completely free to attend. In lieu of charging for the event, Preserve the ‘Burg asks for attendees to consider the gift of a donation, or becoming a member of Preserve the ‘Burg online or at the event, to help them continue their efforts to protect our city’s history and keep St. Pete special.

In addition to the movies and music, beer and wine is also available, along with some of St. Pete’s best food trucks. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and snag their favorite spot in the park. Shows take place in North Straub Park, between 4th and 5th Avenue NE on Beach Drive. Learn more here.

Started in 2010, Movies in the Park has become a much-loved local event, taking place each Thursday evening during the months of May and October. Each movie evening begins with live local music and the opportunity to purchase food and drink from some of St. Pete’s favorite vendors followed by the classic movie on the big outdoor screen. It all takes place on St. Petersburg’s beautiful downtown waterfront in North Straub Park.
