Melting Pot debuts a splashy new restaurant on Central Avenue in St. Pete

Downtown St. Pete just got a whole lot cheesier. After a four-year hiatus, Melting Pot has made its return to the ‘Burg, reopening at 699 Central Avenue in the heart of downtown. The beloved fondue spot brings back its signature interactive dining experience with bubbling cheese pots, decadent chocolate dips, and a whole lot of flavor. The opening celebrates the brand’s 50th anniversary, marking half a century of fondue-fueled memories.

This new location is described as a “glow-up.” Melting Pot St. Petersburg features a modern, 4,900-square-foot space with multiple dining zones, warm natural textures, and some uniquely local flair. Diners can expect everything from handcrafted cocktails at an indoor-outdoor bar to an exclusive Chef’s Table that offers behind-the-scenes kitchen views. There’s even “Lover’s Lane” seating for extra-cozy date nights.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Melting Pot without that gooey, craveable fondue. Alongside classic cheese and chocolate selections, the St. Pete menu includes locally inspired flavors that nod to the city’s vibrant food scene. Think Brie & Fig Cheese Fondue and Burnt Orange Grand Marnier Chocolate Fondue—yes, please.

Then on Wednesday, April 16, things get even cheesier with a community Cheese Eating Contest at 3:30 p.m., benefiting the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance. The official ribbon-cutting with the St. Pete Chamber of Commerce follows at 4 p.m.
