Futurity Pop-up has redefined the local art market landscape with its commitment to inclusivity and diversity. Created by T Taylor and Lauren Harris, this market aims to break down financial barriers for artists of color, offering a platform where they can showcase their work without vendor fees.

The next pop-up is set for June 24 from 7pm-10pm at Good Intentions (1900 1st Ave S) in the Grand Central District of St. Pete. This event will feature sounds by DJ Emmpowwer and a drag performance by Marisol Lords. Goodies will be offering mocktails and dinner throughout the evening. The organizers are raising funds for Queer Expressions all pride month. Tickets for this pop-up are $15 online and at the door; however, no one is turned away for lack of funds, and it’s free for QTBIPOC.

A unique theme with local vendors from January through June

Futurity Pop-up stands out in a market often dominated by white artists due to high participation costs. By allowing creatives of color to vend free of charge, the market promotes equality and empowerment within the artistic community. Additionally, Futurity Pop-up provides musicians of color with opportunities to perform, further enriching the market’s vibrant atmosphere.

Each month from January to June, a unique theme sparks creativity and draws in a crowd eager to dress up. In addition to the vendors and musicians, a photo booth allows attendees to capture their amazing looks. January kicked off with a Slumber Party, followed by February’s Angels vs. Devils, March’s Mythical Creatures, and April’s Blossom Bash, which included mocktails named after flowers.
