Join guest teacher, Kelsey Evans-Amalu, as she guides you through different practices to induce feelings of deep rest.
According to physician Saundra Dalton-Smith, M.D., author of Sacred Rest: Recover Your Life, Renew Your Energy, Renew Your Sanity, humans need physical, mental, social, creative, emotional, spiritual, and sensory rest.
This workshop will incorporate and integrate the various forms of rest that we can explore to feel more restored in our daily lives.
The workshop will open with gentle movement through yoga asana, and will progress into longer more restorative holds. Upon creating further awareness of our physical bodies, a practice of yoga nidra (yogic sleep) will be offered to aid in both mental and sensory rest.
After a prolonged shavasana, we will open up the space for a time of communion with one another- tea will be served while switching to a time of more creative rest via compassionate inquiry and witnessing. Several journal prompts will be extended to offer curiosity around integrating resting practices into our daily experience.
