Lines, a solo exhibition of Filipino-American artist, Tommy Bayot – Opening Night
June 9 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Lines is the first solo exhibition of Filipino-American artist, Tommy Bayot. The show focuses on lines. Some are literal. Some seem to be hidden. Some harken back to yesteryears. All embrace love, peace and inclusivity.
The Factory, St. Pete is featuring a queer artist for Pride month. Lines is the first solo exhibition of Filipino-American artist, Tommy Bayot. The show focuses on lines. Some are literal: the impetus of creativity in a kid’s robot drawing; practicing writing in cursive –which nowadays seem to be fading away; writing lines as punishment in school; and drawing outlines that appear to be hieroglyphics, but they’re not. Some seem to be hidden: colorful shapes that allure you from seeing the lines and what they spell out; edges and shadows create the lines in his single-colored, 3D pieces. The exhibition will give you some nostalgia, pique your mind on how you see the world, and celebrate love, peace and the lgbqia+ community.
