One of the best brunches in St. Pete isn’t available on the weekend. And in the Burg, that’s a welcomed change. Monday brunch at The Bier Boutique may be the best meal in town you didn’t know about.

If you’ve ever had the day off on a Monday, you may have noticed just how many restaurants and bars around St. Pete are closed. Of course, that isn’t rare for restaurants all over. But in a town so fueled by tourism and with so many hospitality workers (who often have Mondays off), it can be problematic when all the best brunch spots are closed until the weekend returns.

Now, The Bier Boutique isn’t the only spot open for brunch on Mondays, but in addition to being one of the best kept secrets in this booming city, it’s also one of the most enjoyable cheat meals anywhere. With its Midwestern roots, The Bier Boutique’s daily lunch and dinner menu already trends toward the heavy, button-popping goodness that pairs so perfectly with great beer.

At their Monday brunch, every Monday from 11 am – 3 pm, The Bier Boutique doubles down on the poato-ey, cheesy, syrup-covered specialties. In their defense, the restaurant more lovingly refers to it as comfort food, and on that promise, they more than deliver. I mean, just the brunch menu has two different versions of loaded tater tots.

The eye-and-waistline-popping brunch menu provides options of both the sweet and savory variety, with several that fall into both categories. In addition to the aforementioned loaded tots (get them Midwest style with ham and red peppers, or breakfast style with bacon croutons and a fried egg), try the chicken and waffles drizzled with hot honey, or perhaps the brunch burger topped with Wisconsin sharp cheddar, peppered bacon, and a fried egg. We recommend the fresh-cut Idaho fries or the house-made cheesy potato casserole for a side.

Really feeling peckish? The pork and waffles is a massive platter with a light and crunchy Belgian style waffle topped with slow roasted pulled pork, a fried egg and spicy maple syrup. And of course, you can get standards like an egg platter with bacon, toast and the cheesy potato casserole, or the brunch BLT with chipotle ranch, two eggs, and a side of your choice.

On the sweeter side, The Bier Boutique dishes up two version of thick French toast – candied pecan, or strawberries and cream. And don’t forget to hit the bar menu for mimosa flights, spicy bloody marys, or some classic Irish coffee. In addition, of course, to their lengthy tap list of craft beer from across the country. Beyond the permanent menu, the chef is always coming up with new specials, from steak and eggs to biscuits and gravy and everything in between.

So the next time you find yourself with a Monday off – or just a chance for a long lunch – check out one of the most underrated eating experiences in town. The Bier Boutique is located at 465 7th Avenue N next to Round Lake Park and is open Monday-Saturday from 11 am – 10 pm. Learn more and see the full menu at thebierboutiquestpete.com.
