Update: This event has now sold out.

Rice, rice, baby. St. Pete’s Green Bench Brewing Co. is bringing a unique brunch experience to the Burg this weekend. In partnership with LOKO Cuisine, the beloved brewery is hosting the Bibimbap & Hip-Hop brunch on Sunday, August 21 from 11 am – 1 pm.

The beer and rice (and rice beer) fueled gastronomical experience is a Korean twist on the concept of a kegs and eggs brunch. In addition to tasty eats and drinks, a curated hip-hop playlist will provide an afternoon full of jams. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available now for $43.

On the food side of things, LOKO Cuisine is curating an endless bibimbap buffet. The bar will be full of bulgogi beef burnt ends, gochujang buffalo tofu, rice, fried eggs, kimchi, veggies, and special sauce. Plus, LOKO is whipping up pan-fried green tea pancakes stuffed with brown sugar, honey, peanuts, and cinnamon. The entirety of the bibimbap menu will be gluten-free, and there will be a gluten-free substitute for the pancake available.

On the drink side, Green Bench is breaking out some goodies to pair with the bibimbap. Namely, they’re tapping a special of Thrice Rice, a deliciously dry-hopped witbier brewed with three kinds of rice, as well as coriander, orange peel, lemon grass, white peppercorns. Tampa caffeine star Ginger Beard Coffee will also be on hand with nitro cold brew and nitro Dry-Hopped Citron Green Tea.

Tickets include one beer, cider, wine, tea, or coffee of choice, and of course, plenty more will be available for additional purchase.

LOKO Cuisine showcases incredible pop-ups

LOKO Cuisine was founded by John LoScalzo, the son of a restaurateur and a teacher for Hillsborough County Schools. The pop-up concept was a way for LoScalzo to exercise his culinary muscles alongside his wife, Stephanie Kojima. LOKO’s monthly eggs and kegs brunch has become a staple at Tampa Bay Breweries, and is sure to be a standout at Green Bench.

Green Bench, of course, is a star in the Tampa Bay brewing scene, and was the first craft brewery to open in St. Pete nearly a decade ago. And if you’re looking for more beer-centric shenanigans, keep an eye on Green Bench’s inaugural Oktoberfest party, coming September 17.
