Old NE residents enjoy walkable access to Historic Sunken Gardens, St. Pete's oldest living museum

Sunken Gardens (1824 4th St N) is a must-visit destination for residents and visitors in St. Pete. The beautiful escape tucked within the Historic Old Northeast Neighborhood had to close to the public due to Hurricane Milton’s effects. Good news: the famous flamingos are OK, the lush plantlife is all good, the gift shop has power, and the venue is ready to greet guests once again.

Sunken Gardens, the 100-year-old mid-city oasis on 4th Street, was named one of the top 10 hidden gems in the entire country by the publication The Street. With a hat tip to travel site HawaiianIslands.com, The Street combed Travel Advisor reviews to find the best tourist destinations across the country that weren’t just fun, but highly underrated.
