A Preview of the Installation

With 23 days left until opening, iLovetheBurg got a preview of two of the first pieces to be assembled at what will soon be The Chihuly Collection’s permanent home at 400 Beach Drive. Two pieces from the chandelier collection were being installed; the Stonecipher chandelier and the Ruby Red Icicle chandelier. The intricacy and detail of each piece were breathtaking and, while stunning, photos cannot fully do it justice.

Once completed, the 10,000 square foot Chihuly Collection, presented by the Morean Arts Center, will be the first installation of Chihuly art in a building designed specifically for that purpose.

Soon, the Collection entrance will be marked by a 20-foot sculpture created especially for the site.
