St. Pete offers free kayaking tours, pickleball lessons, and kickboxing for residents

Get Fit St. Pete is lowkey incredible. The St. Pete Parks & Rec Department has put together an incredible list of recurring free outdoor activities for residents to enjoy. Want to learn pickleball? Treat yourself. Curious about kayaks? Treat yourself. Need yoga in your life? Treat yourself one more time.

Below you’ll find a list of upcoming events – each is linked to its corresponding event page so you can get notified when new dates are announced. While these classes are free, pre-registration may be required.

Healthy St. Pete is also offering a Get Fit Membership! Participants can signup online. This digital membership is FREE and open to anyone who would like to attend a Get Fit St. Pete monthly class. Follow St. Pete Parks & Rec on Facebook for updates on future events.

Yoga in the Park
First Saturday of the month: 9am-10am
Crescent Lake Park, 1320 5th St N

Classes are hosted by The Body Electric Yoga Company.

Stroller Strength
4th Saturday of the month: 9am-10am
Walter Fuller Park, 2803 80th St N

This class is perfect for all those with newborns and young children who want to make exercise a habit and to meet new friends. No strollers are required.

Tai Chi in the Park
Every third Tuesday: 6pm-7pm
Northwest Park, 5801 22nd Ave N

Meet the Tai Chi instructor, Doug Hatch in the grass off 22nd Ave near the pickleball courts.

Pickleball 101 – pre registration required
Every second Tuesday: 6pm-7pm
Bartlett Park, 2000 7th St S

Try out this paddleball sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. Paddles and balls are provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own.

Pickleball 101 – pre registration required
Fourth Fridays: 9am-1am
Childs Park, 4301 13th Ave S

Try out this paddleball sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. Paddles and balls are provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own! Pre-registration is required as class size is limited, 12 participants max. Email rrmcswee@stpete.org for registration cancellations at least 24 hours prior.

Cardio Kickboxing
Every first Tuesday: 6pm-7pm
Campbell Park, 601 14th St S

This exciting cardio kickboxing class will focus on technique and move into combination work for great workout. No physical boxing.

Cardio Drumming
First Friday: 9am-10am
Roberts Recreation Center, 1246 50th Ave N.

Experience the rhythmic thrill of cardio drumming like never before. Get ready to sweat, smile, and drum your way to fitness fun!

The AARP Fit Lot at Booker Creek Park

FitLot Training
Every second Friday: 9am-10am
Booker Creek Park, 2300 13th Ave N

This circuit style class at the AARP sponsored FitLot is good for beginners and anyone hoping to learn a bit more about exercise.

Kayaking 101 – pre registration required
Every fourth Tuesday: 6pm-7pm
Coffee Pot Park, 1st St NE & 31st Ave

Enjoy a great work out on the water. Kayaks are provided (10 solo kayaks / 5 tandem kayaks available).

Water Aerobics
Every third Friday: 9am-10am
EH McLin Pool, 602 14th St S

This class is good for anyone looking to build strength and improve heart health while putting less stress on your joints and muscles. No lap swimming is involved.

Neighborhood Walks
Fourth Saturday of every month: 9am-10am
Various locations, led by Neighborhood Wellness Champions

The purpose of the Neighborhood Wellness Champion program is to increase collaboration and engagement between Healthy St. Pete and neighborhoods throughout the City. Neighborhood Wellness Champions organize monthly walks in their neighborhoods.

Trail Fun Run
Every second Saturday: 9am-10am
Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, 1101 Country Club Way S

Perfect for runners and walkers of all levels. Children are welcome but must be fully supervised. Participants will start with a thorough warm up and stretching portion and then begin the run. The loop is approximately 5K (3.1 miles) but feel free to travel any distance that you desire.

Zumba
Third Saturdays: 9am-10am
Thomas “Jet” Jackson Recreation Center, 1000 28th St. S

Healthy St. Pete and your Zumba instructor, Lauren Hanan, invite you to join them for a FREE Zumba class on the THIRD SATURDAY of the month. All skill levels are welcome.
