Another day, another round of openings in the Sunshine City — and trust us, they’re worth getting excited over. Both run parallel to the Healthy St. Pete movement, without sacrificing fun and flavor.
Serene is Central Avenue’s newest arrival
For those who love smoothie bowls as much as we do (acai you later, haters) Serene is here to imbue you with fresh fruit flavors. It’s set to open soon at 1113 Central Avenue and will offer the always grammable smoothie bowls, avocado and fruit boats — and a selection of tonics and elixirs.

An official opening date hasn’t been announced yet, but the restaurant continues to tease the fresh ingredients customers can expect on the menu.
Gandy gets its own athletic club
There’s been a rush of residential developments off of Gandy Boulevard and Rec Dec St. Pete is a unique and welcome addition to the crowd. Located at 380 105th Terrace Northeast, Rec Dec is a clubhouse and sports facility with a whole lot more going on.
The spot will offer cold beer, a slew of social games and a full-on beach volleyball court. It certainly offers residents at the Tortuga and Aura at 4th complexes another night out option that doesn’t involve making the trek downtown.
The establishment already has an event planned for November, so residents won’t have to wait too much longer to experience Rec Dec.
In addition to the beach volleyball court, visitors can expect to enjoy turf soccer, a bocce courtyard and skeeball.
