It’s been almost a century since the last total solar eclipse in the United States. The past few weeks have seen an explosion of interest in the rare phenomenon. While Florida will only be experiencing a partial eclipse the Sundial is making sure it’s done in style.
On Monday, August 21st from 1-4pm, the Sundial will host an eclipse viewing party.
The center has your eyes covered as those highly sought-after viewing glasses will be handed out to the first 200 guests in attendance. (Remember, to protect your eyes while viewing the solar eclipse!)

The Sundial is renowned for being the home to the world’s largest functional bowstring dial. Following the peak phase of the eclipse, Sundial staff will commemorate the iconic courtyard sculpture with a plaque.
In addition to the spectacular eclipse, there will be live music from Best of the Bay’s nominee Austen van der Bleek as well as specials and sales from select Sundial shops.
For those bearded spectators, the Shave Cave will be hosting a drawing with the chance to win a Shave Cave customized beard balm & essential oil set along with a $50 gift card.
