Winn-Dixie and its charitable arm, the Winn-Dixie Gives Foundation, are stepping up to aid communities hit hardest by Hurricane Milton’s aftermath. The grocery chain plans to host two distribution events this week, offering free water, ice, cleaning supplies, and $50 Winn-Dixie gift cards to more than 500 individuals in need.

The events will take place in Sarasota and St. Petersburg, providing crucial support to residents struggling to recover from the storm’s impact.

The first event kicks off in Sarasota on Tuesday, October 15, at the Winn-Dixie store on 4230 Bee Ridge Road. Starting at noon, the first 250 people to arrive will receive the donated items. On Wednesday, October 16, the relief efforts move to St. Petersburg at the Winn-Dixie located at 2139 34th St. N. The distribution will begin at 12 p.m., also serving the first 250 attendees.

Winn-Dixie’s initiative aims to provide essential resources for those affected by the hurricane, helping them restock their refrigerators and begin the process of rebuilding. With their focus on community support, these events underscore the company’s commitment to assisting neighbors in need during challenging times.
