The scents of hot cider and cinnamon mixed with the comforts of sweater weather and foliage are sewn in the fabric of Fall. While they are wonderful commercial norms for the season, they have nothing on the Fall season in St. Pete.

1. The Weather
The Fall in the Burg offers opportunities to put your sweater on, but it's never so cold that you couldn't put on your bathing suit, shorts and/or tank top. Whether you're getting tan or comfortable, the remove of humidity offers plenty of outfit opportunity.
Forget about Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D). You won't get cabin fever when the cold rains and premature snowfalls make the roads impossible to drive on. This is the Sunshine City, you can get copious amounts of Vitamin D on a regular basis without the fear of icy roads.
2. The Food
Just in case you begin to get nostalgic for a Red Gala Apple Pie or the sugary crumble bits on top of Grandma's Apple Crisp, we have some relief for you. Urban Brew & BBQ will be bringing back their house made apple crisp complete with melty ice cream and caramel drizzle. Still hungry? Try Trip's Diner on MLK. They'll serve you a slice of their Apple Pie with a scoop of vanilla and a heavy dose of whipped cream. The northeast is the hotbed for diners, our diner on the outskirts of downtown brings a touch of New England to the Burg.

The annual Pumpkin-ocalypse comes with the season. From coffee to beer to pop tarts, the choice flavor palette for most shelves becomes a bit stagnant. In spite of the generic uses of "pumpkin" flavor the Burg offers a treat unbeknownst to most other cities. The pumpkin pie scoop from Old Farmer's Creamery is the perfect blend of Summer and Fall.

3. Outdoor Fun
The falling leaves are beautiful to watch on their way down, too bad they don't evaporate or melt. We're not against the drying of the lawns, the hardening of the ground and the earthy tones the leaves take on. We'd just rather spend our Saturdays and Sundays enjoying the beach, a good book, an IMAX flick at Muvico or a walk on the waterfront. While the concept of chopping, raking, bagging and disposing load after load of leaves sounds fun, we'll stick with tossing a few palm fronds.
By October most cities known for their classic fall aesthetic are turning up the heat indoors. While they're stacking logs for kindling up north we're unrolling our picnic blankets in the park. That's because Movies In The Park returns in October with 4 weeks classic films. With the bugs gone and the Sun setting on the waterfront, it makes for a perfect night out in October.
The rest of the country at this point has turned its undivided attention toward the NFL season. We in St. Pete celebrate the true futbol season and our Tampa Bay Rowdies. The best part about a Rowdies pre-game? It's never too cold to tailgate.
