Voodoo Brewery finishes the last touches before debuting.

After some setbacks, Voodoo Brewery at 220 4th St. N. is poised to open by October 19, just in time for the fall season.

When he took over in the spring of 2023, owner Bob Skepnek had to finish a lot of rough work left half-done, including electrical and plumbing tasks as well as installing a kitchen and a fridge. The exterior hides the true size of the space inside. The bar stretches out long, and seating is available throughout the area, including some awesome tables made from wooden pallets. Dark-themed murals cover the walls, enhancing the unique ambiance.

VIP balcony lounge, pinball, and elevated pub fare

We’re most excited about the VIP balcony, featuring couches, a television, ample extra seating, a pool table, retro video game cabinets, and pinball machines. An entire wall on the upper floor will showcase music and band-themed pinball machines.

Voodoo operates as a full brewpub, serving a mix of Voodoo’s own beers and seltzer cocktails, along with other local and regional beers. They will also offer elevated pub fare, including smash burgers, pizzas, mussels, sandwiches, giant pretzels, and more. Owner Bob Skepnek tells me that the chef he hired comes from a fine dining background and will introduce unique food items (not listed yet) that guests wouldn’t expect at a pub.

Stay tuned for updates on the concrete opening date.
