UPDATE: The viral chicken and waffle cone concept will open at 425 Central Avenue, according to the Chick’n Cone’s website. That means it will move into the current Lonni’s Sandwiches location on the 400 Block.

Don’t worry, Lonni’s isn’t shutting down. The deli is moving next door to the former Hair on Central location.

Do you love fried chicken? Do you love waffle cones? If the answer to both of those questions is yes, then there’s a new restaurant coming to satiate your deepest cravings. The viral and fork free Chick’n Cone offers southern comfort on the go.

The tasty concept began in New York City and kind of just took off from there. Initially a location was teased for the city of Tampa, but it seems plans have changed and Chick’n Cone is now eyeing St. Petersburg, according to their website.

Creative Loafing reports that the owners plan to open the franchise on the 400 Block before the start of 2020.

When it opens, you better prepare your taste buds for a sensational variety of flavors. Sauces include a kicking ranch dressing, a Carolina-style BBQ, a cinnamon maple blend, a traditional BBQ and a buffalo bleu cheese.
