The 200 Block of Central Avenue in St. Petersburg may be the most spirited section of the entire city. Mandarin Hyde, The Oyster Bar, Del Mar, Mastry’s, Five Bucks, the Crafty Squirrel and a host of other bars serve as proof. Now, Sauvignon enters the fray. Described as a wine locker and American trattoria, Sauvignon will arrive upstairs of 241 Central Avenue.
Certified sommelier Chris Ciarcia has partnered with Jim Jenkins to open the bar/restaurant on one of the Burg’s busiest blocks. Sauvignon will serve a fresh seasonal menu with homemade pastas, grilled meats, salads, cheese and charcuterie, and a major emphasis on desserts and dessert wine pairings.

The owners also said there will be an extensive by the glass and by the bottle wine list. A club membership program is also being developed. For you ambitious wine masters, this place could serve as a proving ground.
The concept should open soon, though an official date has not been set yet. Follow Sauvignon on Instagram for updates.
