Wild Rocky Horror Picture Show event with the real ‘Magenta’ comes to St. Pete

Wild Rocky Horror Picture Show event with the real ‘Magenta’ comes to St. Pete

Actors on stage

Let’s do the time warp again, St. Pete! The Duke Energy Center for The Arts – Mahaffey Theater announced that it is hosting a spectacular and unique showing of the cult classic film/musical The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Thursday, October 3. As part of a celebrity-laden international tour, the wild experience celebrates the 49th anniversary of the famed film.

What makes this night even more exciting is that Patricia Quinn, the original Magenta from the movie, is along for the ride and will be in the theater for the whole show. The tour also includes a live shadow cast, Hell on Heels, as well as live audience participation. In addition to the screening of the original, unedited film, there will also be a costume contest and even a memorabilia display with artifacts from the film, including an actual costume from the movie.

Guests are encouraged to dress in their finest film-inspired garb, and there will be audience participation bags available for purchase before the show begins. Between it all, this will be a theater experience unlike any other – a most fitting spectacular for one of cinema’s wildest smash hits. Tickets are available now, and sure to sell out.

Meet the real life Magenta

Those looking for an even more immersive experience are in luck. VIP Meet & Greet tickets are available for this performance. VIP tickets include preferred seating for the performance, plus the opportunity to meet Patricia Quinn herself, have a personal photo taken, and get an autograph.

If you’ve somehow missed the cult sensation and are new to the world of Rocky Horror, there is no better way to join in on the fun than this highly interactive and wildly entertaining experience. To set the scene of the film and musical: a newly-engaged couple has a car breakdown in an isolated area and must seek shelter at the bizarre residence of Dr. Frank-n-Furter.

From there, hi-jinks, hilarity, singing, and terror ensue. Between the costumes, the sets, and even the Meatloaf cameo, it’s an absolute interactive cinematic feast. Of note, the show is 18+ only, given the adult content of the film.

Learn more and get tickets here. We recommend acting fast, as this one is sure to sell out. The show takes place on Thursday, October 3 at 8 pm at the Duke Energy Center for The Arts – Mahaffey Theater, located at 400 1st Street South.
