Reno’s Surf Shop has been a fixture in St. Petersburg since 1982. My first experience of this venerable Sunshine City shop came when I was walking down 4th Street North. While I was walking down the sidewalk toward the then Cali Tacos To Go, and in my periphery I saw someone in full lifeguard gear sitting on a tall chair surveying the pedestrian and vehicle traffic on the habitually busy stretch. That prompted me to head inside the mysterious shop.
The local surf shop, owned and operated by Jon LaBudde, is filled with paddle boards, surf boards, trendy surf and skate clothes, and one of the largest selection of sandals in the entire region. Bathing suits are available in abundance, as are sunglasses, hats, and basically everything you could ever need to enjoy the greatest beach day of your life.

Reno Beach Surf Shop is covered from floor to ceiling in t-shirts, bathing suits, and some the best brands for kids and adults. But if you’re in the mood for something more active, not only does Reno Beach offer surf boards, it has a selection of longboards and skateboards, and fat tire bikes.
