Portofino, an Italian staple for 30 years, is here to stay

Exterior of a restaurant in a large shopping plaza

Portofino Italian Restaurant, a beloved dining spot in the Skyway Marina District, is here to stay. This past weekend, the owners posted that the restaurant would close its doors on Wednesday, June 5. According to the original post, the restaurant lost its lease in the plaza. Ot seems things have turned around. Portofino’s owners took to Facebook to announce their lease is back on, and it’s here to stay.

“We are so grateful for you all through our years in business and hope you will continue to support our local small business community,” the message read. “Thank you all for your messages! We look forward to continuing to supporting our community and will need the continued support of our wonderful community!”
