Pin On Cafe, an Asian fusion restaurant, is relocating from its EDGE District location to 2458 Central Ave. in the Grand Central District. The restaurant will soft open on November 21, with its final day of service in the EDGE District set for November 17.
While the concept remains similar, co-owners Som and Roger Rattanachane plan to focus more on traditional Laotian and Thai cuisines in a fast-casual setting. “We’ll be doing a lot of Thai papaya salads,” says Som, “and ocean style from North Laos, where my husband’s from.” Som and Roger hail from Thailand and Laos, respectively.

Guests can look forward to robust flavors in house specialties like Tom Luang Bang (papaya salad served with wild rice noodles, garlic chilis, fermented fish sauce, brown sugar, Asian eggplant, and tomatoes). The use of herbs like lemongrass and kaffir leaf, indigenous to Laos and Thailand, promises to transport the senses. Pin On Cafe will also feature Thai pastries, Boba tea, and Asian-inspired cocktails served at its full-liquor bar.
“…customers enjoying our food…is the biggest inspiration”
This is not the Rattanachanes’ first venture. In 2017, they opened Pin Wok & Bowl, a Thai-sushi restaurant. Earlier, in 2011, Roger and his family launched Sab Cafe. Their continued expansion highlights St. Pete’s vibrant food scene, which supports both restauranteurs and food lovers.
“Seeing customers enjoying our food and supporting our restaurant is the biggest inspiration to open the 2nd location at Pin On Cafe,” says Som. “I want to offer new, tasty, and healthy food with fresh ingredients to our customers. I care about them as my extended family and look forward to their continuing support.”
