The Historic Old Northeast Neighborhood is home to some of St. Pete’s most beautiful scenery, with its historic houses, lush oak canopies and quaint brick streets. This April, some of its hidden gems will be open to the public as the Historic Old Northeast Neighborhood Association hosts the inaugural Art in the Garden Tour on Saturday, 15, from 1-4 pm.

This first-of-its-kind experience is a journey for all of the senses. Guests will go on a self-guided tour through some of the neighborhood’s most incredible residential gardens, which will be filled not only with cultivated greenery, but works created by many of the neighborhood’s most prolific artists and live performances by celebrated musicians.

Stopping and smelling the roses is only the first step on this full sensory experience. 11 unique home gardens will be part of the Art in the Garden Tour, plus 18 outstanding artists and an array of musical performers. Tickets are available now and expected to sell out quickly.

As you walk from home to home, guests are encouraged to take their time in the beautiful garden settings to meet and speak with the garden hosts, as well as the various artists displaying their work. Just stop and enjoy the music and peaceful scenery, and maybe pause for a bite to eat or something to drink. An assortment of local food and drink options to quench thirsts and satisfy appetites will be available for purchase along the way.

Garden styles on display will range from contemporary to lush tropical to cozy bungalow hideaways. Local artists will be exhibiting their work in the gardens, ranging from oil and watercolor painting to pottery to photography to Ikebana flower arranging. Local musicians, including a harpist, two guitarists, keyboard player, flautist, and pianist, will complement the experience.

Tickets are on sale at HONNA.org and at the following retail outlets: Lida’s Jungle, Willow Tree Nursery, Dolin’s Garden Center, Jene’s Nursery & Tropicals, Articles, and Sunken Gardens.
