Gigglewaters blends comfort food and cinema in a swanky, roaring ’20s social club setting

If you were ordering a drink during Prohibition, you might lean over the bar and ask for a “giggle water.” Inspired by this old-timey term for an alcoholic drink, Gigglewaters at 737 Main St., Safety Harbor created a speakeasy-style social club and cinema that lives up to the name.

Established in 2018, Gigglewaters still shines embracing its early 20th-century Brooklyn charm with tin ceiling, Edison bulbs, and a bar crafted from upcycled wood from the historic 1987 Belleview Biltmore Hotel. With a unique cocktail menu, NYC-style comfort food, and a 32-seat movie theater, Gigglewaters has won accolades like Best Neighborhood Bar from Best of the Bay from 2018 to 2022.

Sip on signature cocktails like The 1919, a pre-Prohibition classic with Four Roses bourbon, Demerara, bitters, Luxardo cherry, and orange peel, or share an oversized Kitten made with New Amsterdam gin, Triple Sec, honey, lemon, and Prosecco. Stay perfectly satiated with mouthwatering burgers, elevated mac and cheese, melts, and the “Dillinger Dog.” For a boozy start to the day, “drunch” is served daily until 2 pm.

Classic movies and 10-course cinema supper series

For foodies and cinephiles, Gigglewaters’ 32-seat theater offers the chance to dine from their full menu while enjoying classic movies. Additionally, Gigglewaters hosts a unique cinema supper series every six weeks, complete with a selected movie, costumes, and a 10-course dinner.

Previous supper series screenings have included Ghostbusters and Pulp Fiction, featuring cocktails in oversized syringes and dishes inspired by the films. Tickets for cinema supper series events can be reserved here.
