Weird, wild, natural Florida will be on display in ๐ถ ๐๐ฝโด๐โฏ ๐โฏ๐ ๐๐ถ๐ beginning October 5th at Bayboro Brewing, as the popular entertainment venue welcomes two of St. Peteโs renowned local artists in a show that celebrates the uniqueness of our state! If you think of an art opening as somewhere youโre meant to glide quietly past paintings, speaking in whispers, before youโre finally free to enjoy your Saturday night elsewhere…
Think again! โข First thereโs the art. Perry deVick and Summer Elaine Hue have been delighting our town with their whimsical realism and this show is no exception. Prepare to celebrate some typical Florida scenes, you know. . . the ones happening just out of sight:
// Gators chilling with cocktails in the pool
// Swamp ape skimboarding a neon drugstore parking lot
// A biblically correct angel spoonbill (doing whatever biblically correct angel spoonbills do)โข Then thereโs the music.
Swampy vibes will be served up live by DJ Shannon C, who has plenty of experience getting Tampa Bay fired up. (You may recognize her behind the DJ booth at the TB Lightning games.)โข And the beer. Bayboro will be hosting their eagerly awaited Octoberfest beer release. (Itโs ONCE a year, beer fans.)
And if youโre feeling passionate about saving Floridaโs natural wilds, as many of us are these days, your local chapter of the Sierra Club will be on hand to connect, converse and share progress.Donโt miss the opening party! But if you do, the art will remain on display through November 8th.
More about the artists:
Perry deVick and Summer Elaine Hue live and work together in the Artist Enclave of Historic Kenwood. This opening will be extra special for them, as it marks the second anniversary of their duo show in October 2022, the Female Gaze, which doubled as the occasion of their wedding at MIZE Gallery.
