Orange Belt is excited to host the CRIT Championship Tour. CRIT is a new criterium race series that was launched in 2023 by Justin Williams, a professional cyclist and founder of the L39ION of Los Angeles cycling team. CRIT is designed to generate racing’s most inclusive and electric atmosphere by celebrating the diverse cultures of each venue as represented by riders and fans alike. CRIT promises to promote the spirit of competition, embrace sportsmanship, and share the love of bike racing.
A criterium is a cycling race ridden on a loop that will take riders down Central Ave and 1st AVE N (between 11th Street and 15th Street) in the EDGE District of St. Petersburg. It’s a tight circuit that allows for the spectators to see the riders go by at high speeds every sixty seconds or so.
The action is non-stop with amateur races beginning at noon and the pro races beginning around 4:15pm. The event is FREE to the public with options for VIP and Preferred Seating sections. There will also be a local makers market, bike shop and sports expo village, the Skating Across Borders half-pipe competition, and more! Finally, the event is centered in the EDGE District of St. Petersburg, with their amazing neighborhood bars, restaturants, and retail shops all participating in the race day action!
