Develop new skills and relationships. This hour long meet-up clinic aims to improve your technique, strength, and climbing skills through specific drills and movement. It’s a great opportunity to meet other climbers in your community and find new climbing partners. Each month showcases a specific theme and each week will explore variations on that theme.
Theme: Wall Types
4/5 – Arête
Do you struggle with climbs that follow an outward corner or an edge of the wall? Join us in learning how to tackle this type of wall, known as an arete. We’ll focus on techniques such as heel hooks and compression to maintain stability and contact as we ascend. w/ Logan
4/12 – Overhang
This week’s class will be focused on overhanging walls. We’ll talk about the best techniques to handle this wall type. Key points will focus on keeping your feet in contact, producing power through your legs, and how to maintain efficiency and control through your movements. w/ Cody
4/19 – Slab
Lean into the slab wall and find your balance with advice and demonstrations on technique and efficiency when facing slab routes. We’ll learn about body position, footwork, and other techniques to improve your ability to climb on slab. Recommended: your most trusted shoes in your quiver! w /Cody
4/26 – Dihedral
Dihedrals or inverted corners can be an especially tricky wall type to navigate. These walls rely on presses and static movements to overcome. This class will focus on these techniques and more, giving you all the mental resources you need to conquer your next dihedral challenge. w/ Atticus
