Kenwood Dennard’s Grateful Groove & Gent Treadly

March 1 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

$20

Well known as an iconic jazz musician, having played with the likes of Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and Dizzy Guilesspie, Kenwood also pioneered the jazz fusion improvisational movement in the 70’s with his work with Pat Martino (Joyous Lake) and Brand X (Livestock) and later with Jaco Pastorius and the Word of Mouth band and PDB (Pastorius, Dennard and Bullock) and on his original works with Marcus Miller, Stanley Jordan and Vernon Reed.
He is a musical influence for generations of artists and has performed with many top artists today including Allman Brothers Band, Phish, String Cheese Incident, Derek Trucks, Moe., Sting, Taj Mahal, Warren Haynes and many more. He’s been through Florida on a number of sold out tours with the Stanley Jordan Plays Jimi so the fans will surely be excited to see the new project hit the venues of Florida.
Now that he’s retired from being a professor at Berklee College of Music, he’s taking his love for improvisation and his love for the music of the Grateful Dead on the road and he has teamed up with Gent Treadly (aka Greg Koerner), his twin brother Jon Koerner, Eric Zabala and Jon Zias, to bring his interpretation of the Grateful Dead songbook, to include his funky Grateful Groove, to audiences across the world.
“While Kenwood Dennard borders on unhinged, he never comes close to derailing but instead righteously energizes the music. “-Jim Campilongo, Guitar player magazine 1/14/2022
“Kenwood Dennard, he’s one of my favorite drummers in the world” -Jon Fishman 10/26/2013
