Join us as we celebrate the life and legacy of the great Al Downing (1916-2000), beloved treasure of St. Petersburg. Downing was a trailblazing jazz musician, music educator, veteran, and award-winning community builder. The Al Downing All Stars will perform a collection of soulful jazz, Mancini, Mercer, traditional gospel, and an original Downing composition. Downing family members will share stories and reflections of Mr. Downing, a pillar of the St. Pete community.
