Big Gay Book Party: An Author Happy Hour with Kristen Arnett + Kayla Upadhyaya!

This one is for lovers of funky wines and queer author icons!

Join us on Saturday, July 22nd from 4 pm-6 pm for a boozy author happy hour. Kristen Arnett and Kayla Upadhyaya are hanging out with us to drink wine and sign books for what we call a BIG GAY BOOK PARTY! This event is free and open to the public. No RSVP required. We can’t wait to party with you!

A little bit about each author:

Kristen Arnett is the queer author of With Teeth: A Novel which was a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award in fiction and the New York Times bestselling debut novel Mostly Dead Things which was also a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award in fiction and was shortlisted for the VCU Cabell First Novelist Award. She was awarded a Shearing Fellowship at Black Mountain Institute, has held residencies at Ragdale Foundation, Vermont Studio Center, and the Millay Colony, and was longlisted for the Joyce Carol Oates Prize recognizing mid-career writers of fiction. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, TIME, The Cut, Oprah Magazine, Guernica, Buzzfeed, McSweeneys, PBS Newshour, The Guardian, Salon, and elsewhere. Her next book (an untitled collection of short stories) will be published by Riverhead Books. She has a Master’s in Library and Information Science from Florida State University and lives in Orlando, Florida. You can find her on Twitter here: @Kristen_Arnett 

Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya is a lesbian writer of essays, short stories, and pop culture criticism living in Orlando. She is the author of Helen House, a queer horror novelette. She is the managing editor of Autostraddle and the assistant managing editor at TriQuarterly. Her short stories appear/are forthcoming in McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern, Catapult, The Offing, Joyland, The Rumpus, and others. Some of her pop culture writing can be found in The Cut, The A.V. Club, Vulture, Refinery29, and Vice, and she previously worked as a restaurant reporter for Eater NY.
