Ciccio Restaurant Group (Daily Eats, Fresh Kitchen, The Lodge, Camp Tampa, etc.) made quite a splash on 4th Street when they opened the city's first Fresh Kitchen concept earlier this spring. Daily Eats' opening was supposed to follow, but due to Fresh Kitchen's immediate popularity, concerns about parking and diner traffic congestion arose.
It now seems that Ciccio has officially scrapped plans for 4th Street's Daily Eats and will instead open their brand new concept called Better Byrd in that location. The restaurant's menu revolves around several distinct chicken dishes. Diners can expect dishes like southern fried chicken, chicken falafel and a special Mexican BBQ chicken. All dishes come on your choice of waffles, corn tortillas, a plate of nachos or steak fries or naan bread.

The spot at 4447 4th Street North could be open as soon as September.
