Metro Diner Coming to 4th Street

Since opening in Jacksonville in 1992, Metro Diner has expanded with locations in Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Indiana. They will open their first St. Pete location on 4th Street (5250 4th Street North) at the end of June. It's arrival continues the expansion of 4th Street's food offerings. BurgMonger, Pei Wei, Noble Crust, Just Thai, Fresh Kitchen and iChills have all enhanced the selection on the already delectable strip.

Metro Diner received a certificate of excellence from TripAdvisor in 2015, and continues to receive accolades for its brunch offerings in Jacksonville. Their most popular items include the Charleston shrimp and grits, crab cake benedict, metro pancake: 12-inch challenge, Reese's waffle, pound cake French toast and their decadent breakfast burger. Click HERE to see their full menu. They're open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week from 6:30am to 8pm. The diner should be open before the end of June. Stay tuned to their Facebook for updates.

Proper Kitchen

Proper Kitchen and Cocktails will feature southern-inspired dishes paired with the kind of artisanal cocktails St. Pete residents have come to crave. The owner of The Avenue and Kings Street will soon debut his concept located between World of Beer and the Avenue at 344 1st Avenue South. Owner Stephen Schrutt's strong connection with the Burg community has helped escalate excitement amongst foodies downtown. The restaurant should be open in early July.

Soon, the irresistable scents emitted from Proper's custom smoker will coat First Avenue South in a sweet perfume. Diners can expect gator, brisket, pork butt and smoked fish, among other southern staples. Similar to The Avenue's rather impressive drink menu, Proper will also place a particular emphasis on its craft cocktails, which will be geared to complement their recipes.
