The Saltwater Hippie Beach Bar moves this summer!

In the heart of Madeira Beach is a bar and retail store that embodies the spirit of adventure, creativity, and most importantly, community: The Saltwater Hippie. What sets this coastal gem apart isn’t just its picturesque location but also the story behind its inception—a tale of resilience and community spirit.

“We’re a brand that started a bar,” proudly declares owner Jeri Davis, reflecting on the journey that led to the creation of The Saltwater Hippie Beach Bar.

When they initially opened as a clothing brand store in 2018, they were met with a challenge: they were told they had only 18 months in that space before building developments would commence.

Undeterred by the looming deadline, Jeri and her team embraced the opportunity to carve out a unique space that captured the essence of beachside bliss. Thanks to timing and strong community ties, the bar opened next door soon after, and the result was a vibrant oasis where beachgoers and locals alike could unwind, sip on cheap cocktails, and dance to live music 7 nights a week.

New life begins across the street

In 2019, Jeri and her team embarked on another creative endeavor as they were now able to introduce “The Brass Captain” across the street—an extension of their vision that offered a cozy retreat with its own distinct charm, but also an exit strategy for the Hippie.

Fast forward to 2024, and the promise of redevelopment has finally come to fruition. This summer, The Saltwater Hippie Beach Bar will be bidding farewell to their original space and moving across the street to build out the space currently occupied by The Brass Captain on 15045 Madeira Way in Madeira Beach.

The new development will carry The Saltwater Hippie moniker, feature the adjoining retail shop, as well as continue to offer Texas-style BBQ!

In the meantime, they will continue to delight visitors and locals alike with live music (Thursdays feature members of the band Seranation!), and their popular “Night Markets” held every 2nd Friday of the month. These vibrant gatherings showcase local artisans, live music, and a festive atmosphere that perfectly complements the beachside setting.
