From the same team that set a new World Record with their first-ever hammock hangout comes a supremely spooky and sublimely serene new festival. Hosted by Coast to Coast Hammock Co., The Haunted Hammock Hangout is bringing a sprawling nighttime festival to the St. Pete Pier this weekend.

The big night will include a showing of Edward Scissorhands on the big screen, live music, food trucks, local vendors, a Halloween costume contest, and lots of kicking back in the most comfortable hammock around. The Haunted Hammock Hangout takes place on Saturday, October 28 from 6-10 pm at the St. Pete Pier, and the event is made possible by stellar local sponsors The Original Typsy Gypsy, Loco Mofongo, Craft Body Scan, Shiso Crispy food truck, The Hemp Spot, Arble Baking Co., and The Twisted Kettle, all of whom will be part of the experience.

The festival is, of course, inspired by the story of Coast to Coast Hammock Co., a company founded by two local college students. As such, the event will not only offer dozens of hammock stand rentals, but it will also be an opportunity to get their signature creation, the Dynamic Hammock, at a discounted price for one night only.

The party runs all night, but the movie screening begins at 7:30 pm. There will also be a few local foodie favorites dishing up the good stuff for the festivities, including Shiso Crispy food truck, Arble Baking Co., Loco Mofongo, and The Twisted Kettle. Hammock stand rentals are available here.

Coast to Coast Hammock Co. is a local success story

Coast to Coast Hammock Co. was founded by Haley Tisone when she was a freshman at The University of Tampa. Inspired by students bringing pillows and blankets from their dorms to the park to use in their hammocks, the Dynamic Hammock was created.

The Dynamic Hammock is a 3-in-1 Hammocking System. It includes a pillow, blanket, and turns into a backpack. The inflatable pillow provides proper neck support so that you can comfortably read, work, and relax in your hammock. The snap-on blanket keeps you warm and cozy. The hammock is also double-sized and made with high quality fabric, and it all compacts into a backpack, ready to travel anywhere.

On stress-filled days at school, Tisone says hammocking brought her peace. Coast to Coast’s mission is to offer that same sanctuary to everyone. Plus, with every purchase, they’re giving back – 5% of all profits go to Mental Health America.
