Each month, the City of St. Petersburg has a newsletter called St. Pete Extra that shares updates on new programs, exciting upcoming events, important local news, and a wealth of insider secrets on the Sunshine City. Inside this monthly update, we always find great nuggets that we can use to make living in St. Pete better and more fun for ourselves, our neighbors, our families, and our friends.

With their permission, we are going to share some of each month’s highlights in this space, which are chock full of good info. For example, this month’s edition highlights the new St. Pete bike map and guide the city has created. Check out their website for the full list, and subscribe there to have it delivered to your inbox every month.

Break a leg!

September is Performing Arts Month! Don’t miss your cue – take some time to enjoy St. Pete’s vibrant performing arts scene, this month and all year long. Attend a play, get lost in a dance performance, see a local band, snap those fingers at a poetry reading. However you observe Performing Arts Month, you’re supporting local art and that’s something to be proud of.

A different kind of open house

This October and November, we’re hosting open houses at our drinking water and reclaimed water facilities. Join us for behind-the-scenes tours to learn about how your water is processed before it gets to your home. It’s actually a lot more interesting than you would think!

Find the tour dates and more info at stpete.org/WaterOpenHouse

3 cheers for volunteers

CareFest returns this Fall! CareFest is a community outreach program that helps homeowners in need with minor home repairs, yard work, painting, and more through in-kind donations and volunteers. As a City of Compassion, St. Pete knows that once our own needs are met, we must look to the needs of others.
