One of downtown’s longest-loved art galleries is reaching a huge milestone this weekend. SHAPIRO’S Gallery on Beach Drive is officially celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and the family-owned gallery is ringing in the birthday with an all-day party this Saturday, March 25.

The hub for fine American crafts is welcoming in several of the gallery’s most celebrated artists to discuss their work, while also hosting one-of-a-kind specialty jewelry trunk shows all day. The day-long celebration of artwork and fine crafts will be capped off with an anniversary reception at 6 pm, and the public is invited to join all of the festivities.

SHAPIRO’S Gallery of Fine American Crafts is a local and multi-generational family run business that first got its start all the way back in 1998. As the city has evolved in the decades since, so too has SHAPIRO’S. The gallery originally opened on the 500 Block of Central Avenue, before moving to Bay Walk in 2002. Seven years later, SHAPIRO’S made its final move, opening up shop at 300 Beach Drive.

This Saturday’s festivities are not just a look back on their incredible past, but a toast to the next 25 years as one of St. Pete’s most-loved purveyors of fine art. Since the beginning, SHAPIRO’S has represented artists and craftspeople from Florida, the southeast and across the USA.

The family behind SHAPIRO’S will you tell you themselves that their mantra of “Handmade in America” is more than a catchy slogan. It is their business philosophy and their mission statement alike. As a business and as a family, they are committed to supporting individual artists, craftspeople and small studios from throughout the United States.
