Don’t drink and drive this New Year’s Eve. Celebrate and ride, instead. To help ring in the New Year safely, the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority is offering free rides on all routes for the entire day and night on New Year’s Eve, giving locals and visitors alike a reliable transportation option.

In addition to giving free rides on all routes, select major routes will also offer extended late night hours. Routes 4, 52, 60, the Central Ave Trolley, the Suncoast Beach Trolley, and the SunRunner will all continue service until 1 am.

Riders interested in taking PSTA on New Year’s Eve can plan a trip any time using PSTA’s trip-planning and real-time information app called Transit. The full route map can be found online, and in the picture below.

And of course, PSTA’s newest route is free every day, the new SunRunner bus rapid transit connecting downtown to the beaches. I Love the Burg is actually giving sets of the highly sought after SunRunner Gold Cards, which get cardholders dozens of discounts at businesses along the route. The cards can’t be bought, so check out our Instagram page to enter the competition.

“We want to do our part in the community to provide a safe and convenient transportation option this upcoming holiday season,” said Brad Miller, Chief Executive Officer of PSTA. “No matter how you celebrate New Year’s Eve in Pinellas County, choosing to ride a bus or trolley means you’ll arrive safely!”
